HOLZTIGER – Sustainable Wooden Animals and Wooden Figures

HOLZTIGER – Sustainable Wooden Animals and Wooden Figures

The HOLZTIGER series from goki comprises around 200 figures that are handcrafted in Europe from solid maple wood, gently rounded and carefully hand-painted with non-toxic water-based paints. This allows the fine wood grain to remain visible. Over 160 figures also carry the renowned spiel gut® seal, which stands for exceptional quality and educational value.

We invest a great deal of care, experience, and responsibility in developing toys for young adventurers. For a toy to foster children’s imagination and creativity, it must have high play value.

Only through comprehensive control across the entire supply chain can quality and social standards be fully guaranteed. Our own facilities in Germany, among others, allow flexibility in manufacturing and security in production.

For us, quality means not only that toys are robust and durable, but also that they have high play value and promote children’s development. For these efforts, we have been honored multiple times with various certifications.

The HOLZTIGER Collection – Welcome to the World of Wooden Animals and Figures

HOLZTIGER – More than just a wooden tiger

Children develop a sense of aesthetics very early on and have a natural feeling for quality even in their first years of life. Two qualities they will find in all wooden figures of the HOLZTIGER series. Eye and hand “grasp” the lovingly designed forms of the individual figures made from the most natural of all natural materials – (maple) wood.

This is how HOLZTIGER figures are created:

  1. The contour of the figure is stamped onto a maple board.
Care must be taken to ensure that the grain direction
of the wood does not pose a risk of breakage.
  2. The applied contour is roughly cut out with a scroll saw.
  3. The ear is milled with a router and the hole for the tail is drilled. Using a belt sander, the outer contour is sanded closer to the stamped contour.
  4. In the next step, the contours are finely sanded and
the figure is primed using a dipping process and then polished.
  5. Now brushes, toy-safe paints, and very skilled hands
come into play. In the first step, the surfaces are painted.
  6. Then it’s on to the details – every stroke must be perfect!
Finally, the tail is glued in. The (wooden) tiger is complete!

The production of Holztiger products is handcrafted work with the highest level of craftsmanship. We know the value of our figures and appreciate the skills of our employees. And we are pleased that our customers value this achievement.

HOLZTIGER figures should be stored carefully, as they are among the durable multi-generational toys and will always remind people of their childhood.
